Tucson Certified Translation FAQs

Why do I need a certified translation?
Certified translations are often required for international matters including visas, immigration, adoption, study abroad, real estate, and business dealings. Even if you speak and write both languages fluently, the recipient may require a neutral third party to perform the translation and issue a certificate of its accuracy.

Which languages do you translate to/from?
Our international team of translators can translate between English and over 100 other languages. The most common translation requests we get are:

  • English to Mandarin

  • English to Tagalog

  • English to Japanese

  • English to Hindi

  • English to Spanish

  • English to Italian

  • English to French

  • English to Portuguese

  • Mandarin to English

  • Tagalog to English

  • Japanese to English

  • Hindi to English

  • Spanish to English

  • Italian to English

  • French to English

  • Portuguese to English

Do you offer sworn translation services?
Yes, we have a network of translators in countries across the globe who perform sworn translations that are accepted in their country of residence. For example, if your document recipient in Portugal requires a sworn Portuguese translation, we will have a certified translator located in Portugal perform the translation and adhere a digitally signed certificate of translation. This helps you avoid an extra apostille that may be necessary if you use a US-based translator.

Do you offer notarized and apostilled translation services?
If the recipient requires a simple notarization or a notarization plus an apostille, we can obtain that for you. The translator will take an oath before a notary that the translation is true and correct, and then sign the document. The notary will notarize the translator’s signature. If the recipient needs an apostille, it will be processed through the Secretary of State in the state where the notary is located. If we perform the notarization, it will come from Arizona.

What is your turnaround time for certified translations?
We offer quick turnaround time for translation services. Most documents are returned in 1-2 business days. (The first business day is the day after the document is received, not the day it is received.) Documents that have more pages take longer, but documents under 16 pages are usually ready within a week.

Do you offer rush turnarounds for translations?
If you need a translation right away, we may be able to get that for you. In general, we can get a translation to or from Spanish on the same day (for an additional rush fee). Other languages may be available on a rush basis, but it depends on translator availability. Please contact us to request a rush translation, and we will do our best to obtain it for you.

What is your pricing for certified translations?
Pricing depends on a number of factors. What language is it being translated from? How many pages is the document? How many words are on each page? Do you need a sworn translation? A notarized translation? An apostilled translation? Is an electronic copy acceptable, or do you need us to ship a paper copy? All of these questions determine the price.
