AZ MVD Car Title Notarization

Selling a car and need to get the title notarized? We can help with that!

Arizona no longer requires a notarized signature from the seller of a car. As of fall 2022, the notarization requirement has been dropped, regardless of what it says on the back of the car title.

However, if the buyer is planning to take the car out of state, the Arizona MVD recommends getting the title notarized because the DMV in other states may be unaware that the law changed. They may reject the title if it is not notarized.

Other related documents definitely still require notarization. These include:

  • 48-2004: Bill of Sale

  • 38-1306: Title Transfer Bill of Sale

  • 48-1001: Power of Attorney

  • 48-7104: Power of Attorney with Odometer Disclosure

If your MVD form or car title does need a notary, we make this process easy! Here’s how it works:

  1. Make sure you have a valid ID and know the exact mileage of the car you are selling.

  2. Make an appointment to have one of our Tucson mobile notaries come to your location to notarize the car title or form. We can meet you at any location that’s convenient for you—home, work, coffee shop, private jet, etc.

  3. We will show you how to fill out the title or form, verify your identity, and then notarize your signature.
